Who's Better Than You

In 2002, Westwires Recording USA was proud to announce the release of “Who’s Better Than You?”, an interactive CD to benefit teen-age suicide prevention. Proceeds from sale of the CD are given to the National Hopeline Network, the organization that operates the suicide prevention hotline. 1 800 SUICIDE. Additionally, we have worked with local youth organizations to distribute the CDs to teens.

Teen suicide has reached epidemic proportions. It has increased over 200% in the last decade. This CD is aimed at helping teens recognize symptoms of depression and suicide among their peers, and offers suggestions on how they can get help. The music is a way to connect with the teen audience and offers an empathetic, uplifting and encouraging spirit.

The CD features songs in a variety of styles of rock, hip-hop, pop and folk recorded by national and international artists, including Giant Sequoia, Lost Factor, Beth Waters, Christina Schmid, Blush, Jennifer Parsignault, Manatee, Farah West, Alex Woodard, Face Like Thunder, Lance Saint Ash, Cyan, and Swami.

Sean Tiedeman and Scott Krycia of [K] Studios, Allentown, donated their services to produce the CD artwork and interactive portion of the CD. The music tracks were recorded in various studios. The bands donated the use of their recordings and Wayne Becker donated his services to produce, edit, mix and master the CD at Westwires.
